We have draughty floorboards in our kitchen that we wish to tile over, can this backing board be used directly over our existing floorboards ?Our Advice

Hi Simon When tiling on to floorboards, a minimum of a 6mm Backer Boards need to be used, fixed using a bed of tile adhesive, to ensure a sound, flat surface which you can then tile onto, the boards would also need to be screwed down at 30cm intervals. We would recommend using an S2 flexible adhesive and you may also require a de-coupling membrane. Kind Regards Walls and Floors
